What Azmar Quest is
Azmar Quest is a text-based RPG adventure, with turn-based battles and old-school vibes. Inspired by the fantasy settings of D&D, TTRPGs, and CRPGs.
Choose your class from Warrior, Cleric, Warlock, or Archer, and play the main story. Decide your path through dialogues with multiple choices, and fight countless enemies!
You can also fight in PvP and play Dungeons (online only)
Is this game for you?
Do you know that feeling when you start with just one basic attack, like in the old games, and slowly unlock new skills that actually make you stronger?
When finding an Armor just slightly better than the previous one, because it has +2 Stamina, feels like a real upgrade?
Well, if you're after games that give you every skill from the start and shower you with legendary loot right away, then Azmar Quest probably isn't for you.
But if you're not afraid to take on early enemies with just 1-2 abilities and no armor, and see real progress as you level up, then this may be exactly what you're looking for!
Main features
- Single-Player Story (playable offline too)
- Turn-Based Battles.
- PvP battles (1v1 and 2v2) and Co-op Dungeons (online)
Gameplay
- Choose 1 of the 4 character classes available: Warrior, Cleric, Warlock or Archer, each with their own strategy.
- Customize your character's build: 24 unique skills per class, 4 armor slots and 4 potion slots to create your build and enhance your character.
- Follow Azmar's story through a dangerous fantasy world in this text based RPG adventure, make choices that matter with multiple endings, fight 100+ unique enemies in turn based battles, and reach level 30!
The single-player story alone should last 20+ hours, with much more content beyond it.
And beyond that
- Take on weekly quests, with extra missions and rewards that come back every 22 hours, fight in the 2v2 Arena with your companion, or fight in 3v3 party based battles in the Veiled Realm, and reach Mastery 100!
- Unlock class talents with Embers: every 10 Mastery levels you get a new row of three talents and pick one, permanently changing how your class plays.
- Play online in Dungeons, 1v1 or 2v2 battles, or play rated battles, and reach rank 1000 in PvP!
Developer notes
- Azmar Quest is built to be played with a screen reader: TalkBack on Android, VoiceOver on iOS, and a screen reader interface on Steam, online PvP included. Details and current limitations are on the accessibility page.
- On mobile, Azmar Quest is free to download. No chapter, class, skill or talent is locked behind a purchase. The ads are optional rewarded videos you choose to watch, and Premium is about convenience: no ads, a fourth character slot, and a bigger inventory.
- On Steam the game is a paid, one-off purchase for Windows and Linux, and it includes all the Premium perks. A free demo is available there too.
- The game is only in english. It's very unlikely that I will have time to translate it, but you never know.
- This is a one-person indie game project. I'm constantly developing and improving it. It just takes a lot of time, have patience.

Class Talents
Every 10 Mastery levels you unlock a new row of three talents and spend an Ember to keep one. Each class has its own tree of 30.
-
Warrior
A straightforward but effective class, specializing in either powerful critical strikes or solid defense.
-
Cleric
An attuned caster, shifting between Holy and Dark forms to enhance its skills for healing or damage.
-
Warlock & Witch
An occult caster, specializing in crippling foes with curses and sustaining itself by draining life force.
-
Archer
An agile class that specializes in powerful shots, using different types of arrows, and tactical trap placement.
Playable with a Screen Reader
Azmar Quest is text-based, so there is nothing to see and nothing to aim at. The whole game is text and choices, which is why a screen reader reads it the way it reads a page.
TalkBack and VoiceOver are detected automatically and switch the game to a dedicated interface. Steam has its own, and announcements go to your reader or, if you prefer, to the system voice.
What changes when one is active
- The online turn timer is switched off. In 1v1, 2v2 and co-op Dungeons the usual 30 second limit does not apply, so you are never racing a clock while your reader is still reading.
- Dialogs become native OS dialogs on Android and iOS, so your screen reader handles them the way it handles any other app.
- Carousels turn into plain lists. In the Treasure section on Steam the sliding carousel becomes two straightforward labelled lists.
Frequently Asked Questions
Is Azmar Quest free?
On Android and iOS it is free to download. The ads are optional rewarded videos you choose to watch, and the in-app purchases are optional too. On Steam it is a paid, one-off purchase for Windows and Linux, and there is a free demo.
Can I play Azmar Quest offline?
Yes. The entire single-player game runs offline: the six chapter story, Story Mode+, extra missions, the Mastery missions and their five challenges, talents, the 3v3 Veiled Realm and the 2v2 Arena. Only the online modes need a connection: PvP battles (1v1 and 2v2) and three player co-op Dungeons. Offline uses a separate account, and heroes cannot be moved between offline and online.
What platforms can I play it on?
Android 7.0 and later, iOS 15.0 and later, and on Steam for Windows 10 64-bit and Linux.
What classes are there?
Four: Warrior, Cleric, Warlock (shown as Witch for the female portrait) and Archer. Each one has 24 skills (16 you fight with in any battle, plus 8 support skills used in 2v2 and co-op Dungeons) and its own tree of 30 talents.
How long is the story?
Six chapters, and the single-player story alone should last 20+ hours. After it you can replay everything scaled up in Story Mode+, and continue into the Mastery missions.
Is Azmar Quest pay-to-win?
No chapter, class, skill or talent is sold. Purchases are gold, treasures and convenience items, so they speed progression up but do not grant anything you cannot earn. Premium removes ads and adds a fourth character slot and inventory space. Everyone who buys the game on Steam gets Premium included.
Is Azmar Quest accessible for blind players?
Yes. The game detects your screen reader and switches to a dedicated interface, with labelled controls, spoken announcements and combat read out in full. Online PvP is playable too, with the turn timer disabled. The accessibility page lists exactly what works on each platform, and what does not yet.
Is there a demo?
On Steam, yes: it covers chapters 1 and 2 up to level 10, without the online modes. On Android and iOS there is no demo because the game is already free to download.
Does my progress carry across devices?
Online heroes are tied to your account, so they follow you between Android, iOS and Steam. The Cross-Platform Guide on the wiki explains the details.
